I visited Mr Karagama twice for Botox treatment to treat an inability to burp, after the second treatment (which was just through the neck not under general unaesthetic) the success has been amazing. The care, treatment and support given by Mr Karagama and his wonderful secretary Jo has been absolutely brilliant. The outcome has been life changing for me.

I was treated for a condition called RCPD, which is the inability to burp. Mr Karagama was extremely knowledgeable about this debilitating condition, and I was treated with botox under general anaesthetic. The procedure itself only took minutes to do, and I was out of hospital by the evening. This condition is not recognised or understood by many healthcare professionals, meaning people like myself often go undiagnosed and untreated for years, or treated for other conditions such as GORD and gastritis. Mr Karagama put me at ease as he is extremely well researched in RCPD and its treatment.

Everything was explained to me down to every detail and I received lots of reassurance both from doctors and nurses in the hospital. Dr Karagama was very understanding of the problem and was a big relief to finally have someone determined to fix a problem that has been ongoing for years, and not recognised by other health services.

I was treated for the inability to burp by Mr Karagama and had a great experience. He described the procedure well and answered any questions I had.

Since moving from by the sea to Cheshire 6 years ago, I experienced regular chest infections and symptoms of breathlessness. I have never smoked and as a keen runner I have always been exceptionally fit. Following a GP appointment I was diagnosed with asthma and prescribed various corticosteroid inhalers which did not work. My breathlessness gradually got worse to the point where simple activities on exertion became difficult. Obviously there weren’t many options open to me and this was a necessary surgery. I was very nervous about what lay ahead, but Mr. Karagama reassured me that the outcome would be life changing. I asked lots of questions and he always had the answer. I never felt rushed or pressured into making any decisions and I felt that I was in very safe hands. I had the surgery a week later at the Blackheath Hospital London (Circle Health Group) and I was treated with so much care and kindness by Mr. Karagama and his whole team. Mr. Karagama’s secretary Jo is amazing, she is professional and yet personable, she has a real gift in communication. The nurses are amazing too, so caring and attentive, truly a credit to Circle Health Group. At long last I can breathe and fill my lungs with air. My voice quality is better and I am looking forward to running again and filling my life with all the activities I could do before. Mr.Karagama has truly turned my life around and I am truly grateful to and highly recommend this highly skilled, talented and hard working surgeon.

Dr Karagama listened to me. He asked any questions he had. He then simply explained what he thought and what he could do to help my son. It was simple and quick in the initial appointment. So much so I asked again and again for clarification to be sure I’d heard what he said. I have to say though it was four years in the making. I was referred to Mr Karagama for surgery on a pharyngeal pouch. The procedure he adopted was very successful and enabled me to eat normally within a short time. His explanations were clear and his calm and sympathetic manner gave me confidence at all times, including two follow up consultations to check how I was doing.
